Overview
With the dramatic progress in silicon technology and signal processing, wireless communication has been extended from purely voice communication to huge data transfer applications. OFDM, MIMO and UWB will become the dominant technologies and have been adopted in many hot specifications such as B3G, MBOA, IEEE802.11a/g/n and WiMAX. Cutting-edge digital signal processing knowledge will be used to design sophisticated and efficient architecture for these advanced technologies with smaller number of gate count, less power consumption and acceptable performance. Besides conventional modulation/demodulation modules, digital signal process will take advantage of the high speed ADC and DAC with GHz order and digitalize some of frond end analogue modules to simplify the RF design and dramatically cut the cost and power consumption. And to achieve lower power consumption, smaller chip size and multi-mode operation, advanced RF CMOS process technologies such as 65nm or even 45nm with flexible bandwidth and multimode detection capable RF front-end will become reality in the near future.
Wipro Techno Centre (Singapore) is a pioneer that devotes to short to medium range wireless communication for over ten years and developed many key technologies and advanced silicon ready complete solutions to our customers in areas of Bluetooth, WCDMA modem, UWB, WLAN, Zigbee and etc. Our interests for now and in the near future are:
- RF CMOS 90nm-65nm process technology for multimode, multiband capable RF/Analog front-end
- UWB, OFDM and MIMO technologies which are effective for increasing data rate and will become dominated in the future wireless communication
- Advanced coder technology for effectively increasing the robustness of the communication, such as enhanced implementation for Turbo code and LDPC
- Continue effort on Digitalization of Analog circuit, such as Digital-IF, Direct Conversion, Digital-RF and etc.
- Unique technology and implementation for emerging applications, such as high-performance yet affordable WLAN module for handset for VoIP application and so on
